Reiki is a Japanese word for the ‘universal life energy’.
Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese theologian, discovered the long-forgotten art of healing through the transfer of universal life energy at the beginning of the 20th century.
According to Reiki, everything consists of energy and energy blockages can cause physical or mental complaints. Laying on of hands can remove these blockages and strengthens the self-healing ability of body and mind. In addition, it provides relaxation and reduces stress.
You can do the laying on of hands on yourself or have someone else do it.
But Reiki is more than just the laying on of hands.
According to the Reiki philosophy, 5 principles are the key to a happy life. Together they are a medicine for the soul.
The principles are (freely translated):
-For today I let go of my worries
-For today I let go of my anger
-For today, I am grateful for all the blessings that come my way
-For today, I do my work with dedication and sincerity
-For today I express unconditional love and respect for all living things
Use the principles during a meditation or to set an intention at the beginning of your day. Do this for at least 21 days. And experience how your sense of life changes.
You can also, if desired, repeat the principles at times when you need a push to come back to yourself.
